Col Joye first recorded "Bye Bye Baby, Goodbye" in 1959 and in two short weeks it skyrocketed to the top of all Australian charts.  This #1 HIT was a first for any Australian artist - - Also, a first for the Australian record label, Festival Records, that released the record.  It paved the way for many other Australian International Stars such as The Bee Gees, Helen Ready and Olivia Newton John, to name a few. Col's recording made him the top recording artist on the Continent.  His recording also achieved a first in the USA - - the first Australian artist to appear in the Billboard Charts.
